NACA - Background:
A group called the 'Native American Cultural and Heritage Council of
Australia' or NACHCA was formed in 1995 by a group of people
living in Australia with Native American
Heritage. During its life, the group organised
and ran many memorable cultural shows (music and dance), and
held gatherings and information sessions for its members and the
general public.
The NACHCA group was disbanded in 2001 due to differences in the
direction of its Council Members. According to the predictions of
the Elders, "The circle will be broken, but many will form in its
place". And so it has come to be.
The 'Native American Cultural Association' (NACA) was formally
established in 2002. It is a registered Multicultural
Organisation, with its Australian head office
based in Queensland. NACA was formed to
protect and guide those who seek the true ways of community and council,
to offer wisdom (that which may be shared), and to bring new
unity to the people through learning. Above
all, to protect and teach the children who
will inherit this Earth.
In this intricate web of life, everything is connected. All plants, all
creatures, and all races who share this planet Earth. We pray for
an everlasting peace, and unity among all. It
will come through the sharing
of the ways of the old ones, and with the re-emergence of the spirit of
true community.
"Grandson (Granddaughter)! If you seek answers for your future, look to
the past."
Those who seek us with a pure mind and heart, will find us.
